Every year, they hold the Florida State Fair in Tampa, and it’s always a fantastic event. Whether you’re looking for a fun-filled family day out or a unique date experience, there’s something for everyone at the state fair. I went this past year and thought I’d share my favorite things from my visit!
My Favorite Things at the Florida State Fair
The Food!
This is one of my favorite parts of any state fair—the food. From sweet treats like funnel cake and cotton candy to savory dishes like jambalaya and deep-fried Oreos, there are plenty of options to choose from. I tried something new every time I stopped by a vendor. One of my favorites was the alligator bites—they were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Yum!
I also really liked all the fried sweets! Deep fried OREOs, Deep Fried Kit Kats, Deep Fried Reese’s… there are so many options. And, I have a sweet recipe inspired by the Florida State Fair treats below.
The Rides
The rides at the Florida State Fair are second-to-none. There were some old classic favorites like the ferris wheel, bumper cars, and tilt-a-whirl, but also some modern attractions such as spinning roller coasters and swinging pirate ships. And if that doesn’t get your heart racing enough, there’s also an extreme zip line ride that gives you a bird’s-eye view of all the festivities!
The Games
If you’re into games, then you’ll love it at the Florida State Fair. From classic carnival games like ring tosses and shooting galleries to more modern video game booths featuring virtual reality experiences, there’s something for everyone here. Plus, they have tons of prizes available too—from stuffed animals to iPads!
To make this fair inspired treat, you need frozen KitKat Mini’s, crescent rolls, and powdered sugar.
Start by unrolling the crescent roll dough. Place one frozen KitKat in the center of each individual crescent roll. By freezing the KitKats first, you can prevent it from melting too much in the air fryer.
WRap the crescent roll around the KitKat.
Place them in the air for about ten minutes at 320 degrees.
When finished, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Ingredients
- Frozen KitKat Mini’s
- Crescent Rolls
- Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- The night before preparing this recipe, freeze a package of KitKat minis.
- When you're ready to prepare the recipe, start by unrolling the crescent rolls.
- Place 1 Frozen KitKat in the center of each individual crescent roll. Frozen KitKats will prevent melting too much in the air fryer!
- Wrap the crescent roll around the KitKat .
- Place in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes at 320 degrees.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

My trip to the Florida State Fair was definitely worth it! Not only did I get to indulge in delicious treats and exciting rides, but I also got to challenge myself with some fun games as well.
