Pastries are a popular food item because they taste great and can be found in various forms and flavors. Most of them are pretty unhealthy, which is a major criticism, so we decided to provide you with some healthier alternatives that are better for you while still being tasty.

Before the recipes

The ideal equipment to utilize while creating these meals, particularly if you run a bakery, will be discussed before we go into the enchanted realm of healthy food. First and foremost, an oven is essential to every bakery; it is the single most used item here. Don’t try to go around the rules here. Invest in a high-quality, sealed, and accurate oven. You can also check out Gaux’s wide range of bakery equipment to discover the necessary machinery and tools at every stage of manufacturing. There is simply everything you as a baker could possibly dream of.

Racks are crucial for any bakery, but particularly one just starting out in a tiny kitchen, where space is at a premium. You may let your completed goods cool on the racks while you get the next batch ready to go. Baking tools, including bowls, spoons, and spatulas, should be readily available in any size bakery. The hardest part is deciding how many to purchase. When you’re swamped with orders, quantity usually matters more than quality.

Two more mainstays in a bakery kitchen: stand mixers and hand mixers. Mixing batters and doughs are a breeze with a stand mixer that fits on a kitchen counter. If you have the room, you can try a floor mixer, which can produce bigger volumes of dough at once.

Apple dumplings

Perfect for dessert is a fully cooked apple encased in buttery, flaky puff pastry. Those who like to eat apples will undoubtedly love this type of pastry.

You will need:

  • 6 apples (large)
  • ¾  cup of brown sugar
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 pkg. puff pastry sheets
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups of water
  • ½ cup of butter

Turn the oven temperature up to 400 degrees F. The pastry should be rolled out into a rectangle on a surface dusted with flour. Split into six squares of 8 inches. Arrange one apple on each pastry square. Make a sauce with the remaining butter and stuff the apples with the remaining butter. Spread some brown sugar within the cored openings and the remainder around the base of the apples. Dot apples with cinnamon.

Pinch the dough together around the apple to thoroughly enclose it. Place the second batch of apples in the baking dish, and repeat with the third. In a large saucepan, mix together the water, white sugar, and butter that you’ve set aside. Get it boiling over moderate heat. Simmer over low heat until sugar dissolves, approximately 5 minutes. Slowly add the sauce to the dumplings. Cook for 50-60 minutes in an oven that has been preheated. Serve the apple dumplings in individual dessert bowls and drizzle them with sauce.

DIY puff pastry

  • 1¼ flour cups
  • 1¾ tbsp of baking powder
  • ¾ cup of butter
  • 4-5 tbsp water
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Prepare this healthy pastry by placing some ice cubes in a bowl and filling it with cold water. Mix the softened butter with the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stirring after each addition, gradually add water (about a tablespoon at a time). Wrap the dough in plastic and chill it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before spreading it out.

Flour a broad surface to prevent the dough from sticking as you work. Roll the dough lightly with the rolling pin. After your dough is approximately a quarter of an inch thick, fold it in thirds and roll it out again. Continue these steps until the dough contains no more buttery “marbles.” You may chill the dough in the freezer for a few minutes if it becomes too warm and sticky to deal with. Avoid handling the dough as much as possible; folding it with a palette knife will keep it from becoming unmanageable.

Goat cheese toast

  • Three tomatoes
  • One zucchini
  • A couple of puff pastry sheets
  • 4 ounces of goat cheese
  • 20 basil leaves
  • Spritzing olive oil, grinding pepper, and salt

Put 2 baking sheets in the oven at 400 degrees and line them with parchment paper.

Spread some flour in a work area and unroll the puff pastry sheets. Cut 9 circles from each sheet using a 3-inch circular cutter. The leftover pastry scraps should be chilled for later use.

Spread 1-1/2 tablespoons of goat cheese lightly over each round and arrange on the prepared baking sheets. On top of the cheese, layer one each of zucchini, tomato, and a basil leaf. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and lightly spray with olive oil spray. Cook for 20–25 minutes at 400 degrees, or until puff pastry is golden brown.

Cherry tomato pastry

This straightforward tart exemplifies the adage that “less is more” in many situations: Bake until the crust is beautifully crunchy and golden brown and the ingredients are cooked through; brush with fragrant olive oil; sprinkle with parmesan cheese; top with split cherry tomatoes; sprinkle with oregano (fresh or dried).

  • Package of puff pastry
  • 8 cherry tomatoes
  • Garlic, olive oil, and parmesan cheese

Make a rectangle using the puff pastry, then sprinkle it with olive oil and parmesan.

Slice the tomatoes in half and scatter them on top. Bake for 15 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, or until the dough is brown, then sprinkle with oregano to taste.

These easy and nutritious dishes will have you adding puff pastry to your menu in no time. We hope that you will take pleasure in both cooking and eating these lovely yet healthy meals.
