Peppermint Bark Oreos

A quick and easy Christmas dessert your kids will love to eat (and help you make!).

OREOs may be one of my guilty pleasures, but they can be upgraded to make a deliciously decadent dessert!

I’ve made chocolate covered OREOs before, but this idea combines my favorite holiday flavor…peppermint. I go nuts during the holidays for all things minty including peppermint mocha coffees, brownies, cookies, and of course, peppermint bark. By using OREOs as a base for this peppermint bark, I can create a sweet treat in half the time.

To get started, gather chocolate chips, peppermint extract, candy canes, and of course, OREOs.

On parchment paper, spread out OREOs. Crush candy canes with a rolling pin or a spoon in a plastic bag. Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave carefully until thoroughly heated through. Add peppermint extract for flavor.

Drizzle white chocolate using a squeeze bottle or carefully with a spoon. Repeat this process with regular chocolate chips. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top before the chocolate cools. Enjoy immediately or transfer the cookies to a refrigerator to set faster.

Consider making a big batch for your Christmas cookie exchange or for a fun classroom treat. Kids LOVE to help crush candy canes, and this is a fun one to decorate together.
