This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of A&W® and Canada Dry®. The opinions and text are all mine.

If you have a busy calendar of Halloween parties, trick-or-treating events, and fall pumpkin patches, don’t forget to take a few moments to relax! Sometimes the best parties are simple and have easy-to-serve treats. I want to show you a fun way to let everyone serve themselves this holiday with a Spooky A&W Root Beer Float!

Root Beer Float

What made this recipe fun to serve were the mini monster cans that I found at Walmart! We knew that A&W and Canada Dry would be delicious paired in whatever treats we would create, and they are available in Walmart stores from now until 10/31. Whether you want to add a splash of soda to a baked treat, serve a fun mocktail, or create a Spooky Root Beer Float, the possibilities are endless when you have the variety of flavors from these mini monster cans.

What makes the mini monster cans so fun is the Snapchat Snap Code! You can unlock a special Snapchat filter for one hour.

All you do is scan the ghost icon on the cans by holding your phone with Snapchat open over the ghost icon. It will unlock a fun Snapchat geo-filter. This will make your Halloween party come to life with the characters from the mini monster cans.

As for a fun to serve treat, root beer floats are a CLASSIC! Plus, you can customize them to your favorite flavors and guests can create their own! Set up a party table with A&W mini monster cans, various flavors of ice cream (we used chocolate), serving glasses, straws, whipped cream (if desired), and fun garnishes like bubble gum eyeballs.

Root beer floats remind me of late nights at a local diner when I was a teenager. It felt like an indulgent treat without being too grown up! It is a fun dessert idea for children, teens, AND adults. Plus, my version has a little extra spook included! ;)

Looking to host a Halloween party on a budget? Head over to Walmart to pick up a few other essentials. I like to buy their plastic ware since they always have holiday colors and it’s easy to set up. I look for paper straws in fun patterns like stripes or bright colors to make our beverages more fun. Coasters are a fun touch for a party table, and don’t forget the paper goods! Paper towels, napkins, and extra toilet paper for guests goes a long way!

I also like to add new candles to our home for a Halloween party in fall scents, and I always buy extra beverages too. They never go to waste! The mini monster cans came in packs of six so they were budget-friendly and easy to store in a cooler!

As for Halloween decor, we keep it simple. A few plastic tablecloths, candy to share, and spooky decorations. I like the “monster” theme with eyeballs, monster eyes, and vampire teeth! It’s a fun theme that can get really creative and colorful.
